Trust & transparency

Privacy policy

What data is used, why and how to exercise your rights.

Legal information is being finalised: publication contact, hosting provider and some data processing details still need to be completed.

Controller

The publisher is AZ Medias Limited, Office C, 23/F COS Centre, 56 Tsun Yip Street, Kwun Tong, Kowloon, Hong Kong. For personal data requests: contact@rankyfans.com. See the legal notice.

Visitor data

Browser identifiers, language and country preferences, age confirmation and session data are used. Visits, votes, shares and outbound clicks may be recorded. Certain checks use truncated then hashed IP addresses, browser information or referring domains. Pseudonymised data is not necessarily anonymous.

Profile and request data

Public account details, photos, biographies, prices, activity and counters may be collected from external sources, including through Apify. Editorial assistance may be automated. Account emails, verification evidence, reports and agency enquiries are also processed. Do not send unsolicited sensitive documents.

Purposes and legal bases

Data supports requested account services, publication, verification, voting, abuse prevention and handling requests. Contract may apply to requested account services; legitimate interests require an assessment for publication of third-party public data or internal measurement. Consent must be obtained where required. Public accessibility does not remove data protection rights.

Retention

Daily jobs delete raw clicks older than 90 days, ranking snapshots older than 7 days, sessions, login tokens and verification codes expired for more than 24 hours, and reports resolved or rejected more than 365 days ago. Technical interruptions may delay cleanup.

Accounts and profiles are retained while in use. Withdrawn profiles disappear from the site and may be restored within 30 days; withdrawal does not automatically erase all records. Contact us to request full erasure. Verification evidence consists of hashes linked to a method and date, retained while verification is active and reviewed upon closure. Contact and agency enquiries are deleted manually within 12 months after closure, unless needed for an ongoing contract or identified dispute.

Open reports are retained until handled and reviewed regularly. Aggregated rankings may remain as history; erasure requests also cover data linking that history to an individual. Backup retention follows the provider's settings; erased records must not be reintroduced during restoration. Legal or dispute-related exceptions are limited to necessary data and duration.

Providers and international processing

Authorised staff use Vercel for the application, Neon for PostgreSQL, Upstash for Redis, Cloudflare R2 for photos, Resend for transactional emails and Sightengine for image analysis. Apify collects public information when an import is initiated; OpenAI assists requested generation or translation. Contact emails are forwarded by InternetBS to a Google Gmail mailbox managed by the publisher.

Application runtime, PostgreSQL and Redis are configured in London; R2 uses a Western Europe placement and the Resend sending domain an Irish region. Providers may also process data elsewhere. The publisher is based in Hong Kong. Transfer safeguards and processing agreements require verification by the publisher; no exclusively European processing is claimed.

Your rights

Depending on applicable law, you may request access, correction, erasure, restriction, objection or portability, and withdraw consent where processing relies on it. Email contact@rankyfans.com or use the report form, without unnecessary personal data. Proportionate evidence may be requested. You may complain to a competent authority, including the CNIL.
